What's on Your Pantry Shelf?

My pantry was brimming with cookbooks. I barely use them anymore though (but I probably should start again to expand my cooking repertoire), so I thinned out my collection and here's what I kept. I really need to dive into the Vegan Yum Yum cookbook; I've heard nothing but good things about it. Are there any essential cookbooks I am missing? Please give me suggestions!

Speaking of clearing out and organizing, I'm going to be taking a little bit of a break from the blog for a month or so. I'll still be sporadically posting, but now that the kids are in school (one in first and one in a few days/week of preschool),  I have to start focusing on my shop (and my new shop!) and, well, myself! Stay tuned for updates, follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram! See you soon and wish me luck!

  1. That's a great collection! One cookbook that I love that I see missing from your shelf is Vegan Diner. It's one that I've used so often, I have some of the recipes memorized. It's worth buying just for the Smoky Soy Curls recipe alone!

Good luck with the new shop!!

    1. Hmmm... I thought I had that one. Maybe it got buried! I'll have to double check. I keep hearing about soy curls but never used them before. Another good reason to use cookbooks!

    2. I came to comment about Vegan Diner, too. All my books are in storage, but when they get here that is one of the first I will cook from again.

  2. How did you decide which ones to keep and which ones to get rid of? I have so many cookbooks, and I definitely need to thin them out...!

    1. I just took out the ones that I never referenced anymore. I think I removed about 15 of them--all very egg based.

  3. I gave away a bunch before we moved, but could probably get rid of a few more. And I now realize I still don't have Veganomicon, though it's been on my wishlist for years. If you could only keep 5, which ones would it be?

    1. Any of the baking ones because you can't fiddle with baking! And Kurma's. Everything comes out awesome with his recipes!

  4. Nice collection! I really ought to get rid of some too - although I will always keep and definitely recommend Colleen Patrick-Goudreau's books: The Vegan Table, The Joy of Vegan Baking, and Color me Vegan especially!
