Restaurant Review | Monk's, Philadelphia, PA

If you visit Philadelphia, you are absolutely obligated to partake in a cheesesteak. Fortunately for vegetarians the city of brotherly love has plenty of options for you too. The Mister and I love the veg chicken cheesesteak at Govinda's and Blackbird's take on it, but when were looking for an vegetarian lunch option for our last weekend in Philadelphia near our hotel, we came across Monk's Cafe, thanks to Yelp. Normally, we wouldn't be hanging out in bar, but we threw caution to the wind to try Monk's cheesesteak. I knew after that first juicy bite that I found my new favorite vegetarian cheesesteak. Wow. Super tasty with a nice smoky char and complex flavors. Amazing. You really have to taste one for yourself. Seriously crave-able. I wish I had one right now.

Note: If vegan, just order without the cheese.

  1. We were just there a couple of weeks ago. Their spaghetti and vegan meatballs was amazing, the veggieburger so-so. My sister used to go there all the time when she lived here. I guess we have to go back and try the cheesesteak now. :)
