Vegan Mofo: Vegan Pub Cheese, Avocado & BLT Dagwood!

Let me go wild, like a sandwich in the sun. Let me go wild. Big ham I know you're the one!

Vegan Pub Cheese, Avocado & BLT Dagwood Sandwich Recipe
(Ingredients are highlighted, because you don't need a tight recipe for a sammich, right?)

I have to say, that I think Veganaise is my personal gift from God. You just can't go wrong with a smear of mayo on a toasted (and scooped out!) crusty baguette and then couple that creaminess with loads of Scissors and Spice's sun-dried tomato and roasted red pepper vegan pub cheese (recipe here) and you just can't go wrong. I like excess, so why stop there? Add some heirloom tomatoes, pink Himalayan sea salt, spicy baby arugula, avocado and some Lightlife bacon, and, kid, you got yourself a Dagwood!

  5. I just made this sandwich for lunch today. Fantastic! The vegan pub cheese was AMAZING! We had it in sandwiches, then used it for a dip afterwards. Super yummy. I'll definitely make this again.

Any tips on making the sandwich less messy?

  6. @sara: You have to scoop out the bread just like the do @ Govinda's. It leaves a big cavity and that helps with the Dagwoodness of the sandwhich. Or you could do it as a wrap to contain the mess. :) Toasting the bread also seems to work.

  7. Thanks! I did the scoop, but still a bit of a mess. The messiness was worth the great taste, though! A wrap would definitely do the trick.
