Spice in the Kitchen: Homemade Jams

Organic Blueberry Pomegranate, Raspberry and Vanilla Peach. Aren't they so cute? All made with unprocessed sugar.
I was quite surprised at at how easy it is to make my own tasty jam. The process seemed so complicated with all the sterilizing, jar tongs, water baths, et cetera, but it's actually much less intimidating than I originally thought. Besides the Ball jelly jars, the only other special thing I needed was pectin. If you have a large pot and some tongs at your ready, you too can make jam! Look around online for recipes and tutorials (there are tons!) and get ready to preserve the summer's goodness.

  1. I'm thinking about carrying them around in a sling and co-sleeping with them.

  2. I have a little obsession with homemade jam. Not making my own, but collecting jars that I find for sale at the farmer's market or wherever. I have a hoard of jam in my pantry....I have way too many jars to ever eat them all.
