Thrifting: Vintage Tourist Pennants

I often find junk that I fall in love with at flea markets. The old me would buy them, put them in a trunk somewhere and then find them when I packed up for a move. The new me now appreciates them, takes a picture (generally to inspire a craft or for the blog) and moves on. I want a junk free home.

These pennants caught my eye. Hand stitched out of real felt. If I was an interior designer, like I wanted to be when I played one in a school talent show in fourth grade, I would have snatched these up and framed them to decorate a boy's room or a quirky/fun/eclectic living room in my very wealthy client's new home on Long Island. This room would then be photographed and land up in House Beautiful or Real Simple or some other magazine. These are the fantasies I have when I see unique pieces at the flea. That or I think about the person that amassed this collection in the first place. Where are they now? Are they alive? If they are not, why didn't their kids realize how cool these were? Maybe they just didn't want to have trunks filled with stuff like me.

PS--The first person that can give me a fav movie quote of mine using the words "Niagra Falls," wins a prize. Hint: It's from a Christmas movie.
